AMERIPATH, INC. APPOINTS BRUCE C. WALTON AS V.P. OF SALES AND
MARKETING
Riviera Beach, FL, August 14, 2000 – AmeriPath, Inc. (Nasdaq:
PATH), the largest physician and laboratory company focused on
providing anatomic pathology cancer diagnostic and healthcare
information services, today announced the appointment of Bruce
C. Walton to its Executive Management team as Vice President
of Sales and Marketing. He has over 17 years experience in various
sales and management positions, most of it as an employee at
C.R. Bard, Inc., a surgical device manufacturer. Over the past
year, he has restructured, hired, and trained a dynamic sales
team, contributing to AmeriPath’s increase in same practice
revenue growth from 4% to 15%. Walton is looking to expand the
role of marketing, sales, and contracting, bringing AmeriPath
toward being the recognized leader in diagnostic information
services.
James C. New, the Company’s Chairman and CEO, noted that, “We
are pleased that someone with Bruce’s experience is leading
AmeriPath’s sales and marketing efforts in providing value
to our pathology practices through the growth and differentiation
of their services, and to guide us in the direction of becoming

In his new role, Walton is responsible for directing all activities
related to the Company’s Sales, Marketing, and Contracting
departments. He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration
from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Walton lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with his wife and
four daughters.
