AMERIPATH TO REPORT FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THIRD QUARTER
AND NINE MONTHS ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2001

(Nasdaq:PATH), one of the nation's leading providers
of anatomic pathology services, today announced that
it plans to release its complete financial results for
the third quarter and nine months ended September 30,
2001 on Tuesday, October 30, 2001, before the market
opens.
The Company will broadcast its full third quarter financial
results conference call on Tuesday, October 30, 2001,
at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time over the Internet. The call
will by hosted by James C. New, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer, and Gregory A. Marsh, Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer. All stockholders and investors are
encouraged to participate. This event is available by
