AMERIPATH TO REPORT FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR FOURTH QUARTER AND YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2001

(Nasdaq:PATH), one of the nation’s leading providers of anatomic pathology services, today announced that it plans to release its complete financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2001 on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, before the market opens.

The Company will broadcast its full financial results conference call on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time over the Internet. The call will by hosted by James C.
