AMERIPATH ACQUIRES PATHOLOGY PRACTICE
Riviera Beach, Florida, January 11, 1999 - AmeriPath,
Inc.(Nasdaq: PATH) a physician practice management company
focused on anatomic pathology services, continues to
build on its regional business model by announcing the
acquisition of Harper Pathology Group located in San
Antonio, Texas. The practice had annual net revenues
of $1.8 million in 1997. Terms of the transactions were
not disclosed.
The Harper Pathology Group is AmeriPath's seventh acquisition
in the state of Texas and second in the San Antonio area.
The hospital-based practice employs three physicians
who provide inpatient services at St. Luke's Baptist
Hospital in San Antonio as well as operates an outpatient
lab that serves the local physician community.
