AMERIPATH ACQUIRES DETROIT, MICHIGAN PATHOLOGY PRACTICE
Riviera Beach, FL, December 13, 1999 - AmeriPath, Inc.
(Nasdaq: PATH), a physician group practice and laboratory
management company focused on anatomic pathology services,
announced today that it has entered the Michigan market
with the acquisition of J.J. Humes, M.D. and Associates,
P.C., a hospital-based practice located in Detroit. Terms
of the transaction were not disclosed.
J.J. Humes, M.D. and Associates, P.C., and its physicians
have maintained an excellent reputation in the Detroit
area for over 30 years. The practice's 13 physicians
provide professional pathology services for three hospitals,
one surgery center, and an outreach laboratory in the
growing St. John Health System.

our presence in the state of Michigan by adding a pedestal
pathology practice with longstanding ties to the Detroit medical
