Ameripath Esoteric Institute is a state-of-the-art hematopathology and genetics practice located in Shelton, Connecticut. This facility was established to service the needs of the 60 million people living in the northeast U.S. and opened in April 2005.

Under the direction of Russell L. Maiese, M.D. and Steven L. Gersen, Ph.D., offerings will include hematopathology, morphologic evaluations and consultations, as well as flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and FISH analyses. Dr. Gersen serves as Managing Director and Director of Cytogenetics, while Dr. Maiese is the Medical Director and Director of Hematopathology.

The AmeriPath Esoteric Institute will lead the northeast market in offering comprehensive hematopathology and genetic evaluations, superior turnaround times, personalized service and enhanced reporting options. It will complement AmeriPath’s already impressive national network of more than 35 board-certified hematopathologists and geneticists who evaluate approximately 10,000 bone marrow specimens annually.
