AmeriPath, continuing to
advance the quality of urology diagnostics has
made a major commitment
to the field
in the establishment of the Institute of Urological
Pathology and Renal Disease. The institute's physical
location is in Warren, Michigan; however, its scope
is national in character with regional experts located
throughout the country. We have assembled a team of
outstanding urologic pathologists who interact in a
collaborative way to make sure that each patient gets
the correct diagnosis.
The primary mission of
the AmeriPath Institute of Urological Pathology
is to advance the diagnostics
and treatment of prostate cancer and other urologic
disease by research, education and the highest quality
diagnostic service. This starts with correct diagnosis
along with accurate Gleason grading. Getting this right
can have a major impact on treatment decisions. The
institute is committed to maintaining the highest quality
urology diagnostics across the company. The institute
serves as the ultimate in-house referral center for
challenging cases from the local AmeriPath urology
diagnostics team. AmeriPath continues to support research
investigation in the fight of prostate cancer and other
urologic disorders. The institute actively collaborates
with many universities and research foundations to
support this endeavor. Education of pathologists, urologists,
residents, nurses and patients is essential to the
success of the Institute's battle against urologic
disease. It is through education and increased awareness
that we can optimize our impact on these diseases.
I look forward to the opportunity to work together for the good of our patients.
Sincerely,
Kirk
