Standardization of Urologic Pathology
Consistent and accurate diagnoses of disease states are ensured through
the standardization of methodologies, enhanced diagnostic testing capabilities,
definitive diagnoses, and customized reporting.
Physician-to-physician communication and consultation are enhanced
through AmeriPath's Urological Pathologists, who are linked though
multiple modes of communication to respond to unique or difficult
cases.
To ensure patients the best possible care, specific treatment programs
are tailored to individual patients, based upon specific diagnosis
and superior diagnostic expertise.
Practice Process Improvements
Dedicated pathologists continually review new state-of-the-art technologies
and tests, methods, their validation, and implementation in disease
management program development to ensure these methodologies are utilized
to provide definitive diagnoses.
Continuous improvements are made to all facets of the practices
operational process in order to develop improved test methodology
and quality.
The resulting procedures are less invasive and less costly,
but will enhance the diagnosis and treatment programs.
Education and Training
Continuous education and communication with physicians and patients
on new techniques and treatment methods ensure that all the alternatives
for treatment are considered.
Centers of Excellence
- Regional AmeriPath pathology
practices have been selected with dedicated anatomic pathologists whose
subspecialty concentrates on
urologic diseases. These facilities offer advanced diagnostics, computerization,
and molecular testing (such as DNA analysis), which allow
enhanced
reporting capabilities.
- Center for Advanced Diagnostics (CAD)
AmeriPath's Center for Advanced Diagnostics (CAD) has been newly
constructed in Orlando, Florida. This facility focuses on advanced
molecular
urologic pathology and esoteric testing to provide additional
information on the diagnosis of urologic cancer states, their
progression, and
data management associated programs.
